Company Unveils World’s First Production Line for Spent Lithium Battery Sagger Resource Utilization with 2 Million Units
2024/01/03
Spent mullite-cordierite saggers from lithium battery production contain approximately 1–3% of valuable metals including nickel, cobalt, manganese and lithium. Most lithium battery enterprises cannot achieve environmentally sound disposal and efficient resource recycling of this type of solid waste.
To address this industrial challenge, China has launched the major national R&D project Full-Component Recycling Technology and Demonstration of New Inorganic Solid Waste from Lithium Battery and Photovoltaic Industries. Our company has undertaken this key special research program, and commissioned the first production line worldwide dedicated to resource utilization of waste lithium battery saggers, with an annual processing capacity of 2 million units.
Targeting the multi-metal solid waste properties of ceramic saggers, we have developed an innovative physicochemical synergistic resource recycling technology. This breakthrough solution effectively resolves the disposal difficulty of lithium battery solid waste and realizes closed-loop recycling of valuable resources.

The waste sagger contains about 1-3% nickel/cobalt/manganese/lithium, and lithium battery enterprises cannot achieve harmless disposal and resource utilisation. To this end, the state has set up a major special research project of "lithium battery/photovoltaic new inorganic solid waste full-component recycling technology and demonstration
